Tchá-Degga-Da is a non-profit organization with the purpose of educating young brazilians to play rudimental percussion. The cost of developing this kind of group with the quality of education most youth enjoy in public schools in the United States is quite large. The members have to pay for everything out of their own pockets, which don’t go very deep. The group depends on other bands being able to lend them percussion instruments which are taken to the camps.
We are looking for sponsors who see the potential and the raw talent that these youth have, and respect their desire and determination to achieve excellence in music. We aren’t able to travel and perform or even do much advertising of the group, however, Tchá Degga Da is being very well received around the country and is currently slated to appear on national Brazilian TV. This is only the beginning of our success. With a little more time and publicity, the group will become a much sought after entertainer nationwide.
